Our Evaluation process

At Communicate Your Way Speech Therapy, we offer comprehensive speech and language evaluations tailored to your child’s unique communication profile. We use a combination of standardized tools and dynamic assessment strategies such as therapist observation and caregiver input—because we know that traditional tests weren’t created with neurodivergent kids in mind. Our approach goes beyond scores to understand the full picture of how your child communicates, connects, and thrives.

Please note–no formal evaluation is required to begin services. One of the benefits of working with a private pay practice is the flexibility to start with support right away. We can develop a personalized treatment plan within the first three sessions through play-based observation, caregiver input, and informal assessment.

If your child already has an IEP or previous evaluation, we’re happy to review it and use it to inform therapy. If a formal written evaluation is requested by the family or deemed clinically necessary by the therapist to establish a baseline or support a specific goal, we can provide that through our dynamic neurodiversity affirming assessment process:

Receptive Language – how your child understands and processes spoken language.
Expressive Language – how your child communicates wants, needs, ideas, and feelings.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) – using devices, pictures, and/or sign language to support spoken communication
Neurodiversity-Affirming Pragmatic Language – social communication that centers on self-advocacy, problem solving, perspective taking, co- and self-regulation, and meaningful connection

FAQ

Do you accept insurance?

We are a private pay practice and do not accept insurance at this time. However, we provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies, so we recommend checking with your provider to see what’s included in your plan. We're here to support you in that process and can answer any questions you have about using your superbill.

What are the costs of services?

$125 for a 60-minute session

$75 for a 30-minute session

This applies to both direct speech therapy sessions and caregiver consultations. Evaluation costs may vary depending on your child’s needs and will be discussed during your initial phone consultation. We are happy to provide a superbill upon request for possible out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Please reach out with any questions—we’re here to help!

Where do you provide services?

We offer in-person services within a 15-mile radius of Phoenixville, PA, including your child’s home, school, daycare, or community setting. We also offer virtual consultations for families located anywhere in the United States.

I live farther than 15 miles from Phoenixville, PA. Can my child still receive services through Communicate Your Way Speech Therapy?

Yes! We’re happy to serve families beyond the 15-mile radius of Phoenixville, PA. If you live within 5 miles of Wynnewood, PA, you can also receive services without any additional travel fee. For families located between 15–25 miles from Phoenixville, we charge a $50 travel fee per session to help cover the extended travel time.
