speech therapy services

At Communicate Your Way Speech Therapy, we offer individualized, neurodiversity-affirming speech therapy for children in the places they feel most comfortable and supported. We provide in-person services within a 15-mile radius of Phoenixville, PA—in your child’s school or daycare, within the community, or right in your own home. Sessions typically last 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your child’s specific needs.

Our therapy is play-based and child-led, meaning we follow your child’s lead, interests, and energy. Instead of using rigid drills or flashcards, we embed language and communication goals into meaningful, connection-rich play. Whether we’re racing cars, building with blocks, or climbing on a playground—we use your child’s joy and curiosity as the foundation for learning.

We support children with a wide range of communication needs, including:

  • Receptive Language – how your child understands and processes spoken language.

In therapy, this might look like following playful directions during a pretend tea party, understanding everyday routines, or exploring concepts like “under” and “next to” while playing hide and seek.

  • Expressive Language – how your child communicates wants, needs, ideas, and feelings.

This could be sharing ideas while building a tower, choosing songs on a tablet, or learning to request a snack—using words, signs, gestures, or AAC.

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) – using devices, pictures, and/or sign language to support spoken communication

We model and support AAC use in natural, motivating activities like requesting for tickles or squeezes, asking for help during a puzzle, or sharing excitement over a favorite show—without pressure to “perform” a certain way.

  • Articulation/Phonology – how your child produces sounds and words clearly

We practice sounds through meaningful, fun interactions— making silly faces in a mirror, or practicing functional target words and phrases during fun activities like racing cars or blowing up balloons. We focus on connection over correction.

  • Neurodiversity-Affirming Pragmatic Language – social communication that centers on self-advocacy, problem solving, perspective taking, co- and self-regulation, and meaningful connection

This might involve learning to co-regulate through shared movement games, or exploring how to navigate a tough moment with a peer through in the moment modeling and visual supports.

Every session is designed to support your child’s authentic communication in a way that feels safe, empowering, and fun. We honor all communication—whether it’s spoken words, gestures, echolalia, AAC, or movement—and build on your child’s strengths and interests to support meaningful growth.
